No-show reservations were a massive problem back in the pre-covid times.
Add in social distancing, limited table sizes and reduced capacity and the impact is multiplied.
So how can e-Res help with reducting your no-shows?
Firstly, e-Res has had an SMS reminder feature which will automatically send an SMS reminder text to the customer. This either reminds them to turn up, or prompts them to cancel.
However, it seems SMS reminders are no longer sufficient on their own at reducing no-shows.
So we’ve now added Stripe integration feature to request a credit card online before the customer can complete their reservation.
Stripe.com validate the card and, if successful, pass us back a card “token”.
You can then use this “token” to charge customers at a later date within e-Res.
Restaurant’s who have enabled the credit card feature have seen a dramatic fall in no-show reservations of up to 90%.
The best part is that it’s free to set up a Stripe account. Stripe will only charge you a small commission if you actually charge a customer card.
